Kat & Jon
Garden-grown florals and sustainability done right
Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword — it’s a practice. For Kat and Jon, it shaped their entire approach to their wedding day.
When they asked if we could use flowers from their own garden, the answer was an immediate yes. It was a deeply personal brief — one that brought meaning, beauty, and a sense of home to every floral detail. Bouquets, aisle pieces, ceremony meadows, and table centrepieces were all crafted with what mattered most: connection, care, and intention. Nothing copied, nothing wasted — just florals unique to their story.
At Fera Flores, we speak openly with couples about where flowers are sourced, how arrangements are made, and how they can be reused or repurposed. We prioritise locally grown, and when needed, extend to wider Australian growers. Our mechanics are low-waste, with elements that can be recycled — and we always encourage guests to take flowers home at the end of the night.
As a studio-based florist, we’re agile — working across the Fleurieu, McLaren Vale, and the Adelaide Hills — scaling gently with the seasons. It’s a smarter, more responsive way to work. And it opens the door to weddings like this one: deeply considered, low impact, and entirely their own.
Kat and Jon’s wedding was a reminder of what sustainable floristry can look like when it’s grounded in trust. It’s not just possible — it’s scalable. And it’s absolutely beautiful.
